Subsequently, I ceased updating my Instagram, reduced my photography, and sought meaning in images and visuals that I could physically touch.
The title Blur | Close One Eye refers to a photographic action that has been replaced. Closing one eye while looking through the viewfinder and then focusing. During this process, we wait for the image to go from blurry to clear or waiting for the images to overlap. This slow process is the most romantic sentiment in the world. However, in today's efficient and fast-paced modern life, waiting does not align with the demands of the current photography market. Popular topics are rapidly replaced, and time swiftly slips away as if nothing has happened. We should not forget the roads we have travelled, the people we have sympathized with, the justice we have called for, and the respect we have longed for. These are the foundations of the shared meaning deeply rooted within us in this world. These foundations enable us to instantly understand the sense of loss, taste temptation, experience disillusionment, receive ridicule and retain the underlying colour called empathy that we won't easily wash away. —— Xíngjiǎ Chén
